What you can expect from therapy at Intuitive Psychology.

It is often easy to find ourselves overwhelmed by our emotions and the unhelpful thought patterns we have adopted in our day to day lives or encounter aspects of our relationships that affect our wellbeing.

Learning to tune into yourself and live with greater authenticity can be a daunting task. Therapy sessions are a safe space to gradually explore your inner world, and to make changes in your life that are right for you. In our therapy sessions I will help you to graduallyexplore and reflect on your experiences in a way that is not overwhelming. I bring acceptance, compassion, and curiosity so that together we can build a better understanding of you, and how you can flourish.

Therapy might also focus on looking at your relationships, especially how you can act in ways that fulfil our personal needs while remaining respectful and loving to others.

Through emotion focused therapy and Somatic Experiencing you will learn to become present with and trusting of your emotions and also how to use them as a way of guiding your choices in order to live with greater authenticity. You will learn to become attune with your body and its needs in order to bring it back to equilibrium. We may also explore your life experiences and inner compass and how they both influence your responses and actions toward yourself and others.

Get to know me and how I work:

Do you have a habit of trying to be everything to everyone and often feel like you are running on empty? Do you feel out of touch with your body and emotions?

My therapeutic process is to help you to listen deeply to what you need, both physical and emotionally. Learning to be kinder to yourself will have an amazing ripple effect on your life and wellbeing and will positively affect your relationship with others.

Together, we will explore different ways to reconnect with your emotional needs. It takes a safe, therapeutic place to understand why you may have stopped listening to your body as well as to learn to be more compassionate with yourself, especially when you find it hard to choose what you need, over what you think you ‘should’ need. Even in my own life it has been hard to listen to what I am feeling, not what I think I ‘should’ be feeling. Somatic Experiencing Therapy has helped me to tune in to what I was feeling and as a result benefitted my personal and professional life. Therapy combined with ongoing, regular meditation and yoga provides me with the skills I need to connect more deeply with my own emotions and to keep my life feeling more balanced.

So many people I meet share this experience of having stopped listening to what they need. They are trying to prove things to themselves, look after everyone else or hustle for love. This can only end in feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

If along the way you too have lost track of being able to easily tap into your feelings, therapy at Intuitive Psychology is a safe, quiet space where you can reconnect with yourself and re-learn how to listen to what you need.
